When I first started getting serious about AI, I did what most people do. I watched YouTube videos. I read articles. I bookmarked tools I never opened again. I felt like I was learning, but I wasn’t actually building anything.
The problem wasn’t motivation. It was that I had no idea where to start. Every resource either assumed I already knew what I was doing, or it was so hand-holdy that I never developed any real understanding. I needed something in between — a list of real projects, with real tools, that I could actually pick up and run with.
That resource didn’t exist. So I built it.
Introducing The 12-Project Hit List
On March 3rd, I’m releasing The 12-Project Hit List — a free resource I’ve been putting together for anyone who is curious about AI but not sure where to begin. It’s not a course. It’s not a tutorial series. It’s exactly what it sounds like: 12 projects across four pillars of AI that you can actually build yourself.

The four pillars are Automation, Vibe Coding, Prompt Engineering, and Image and Video Generation. Each pillar contains three projects ranging from beginner to medium-advanced, so there’s an entry point regardless of where you are right now. Every project tells you what you’ll build, what tools you’ll need, what you’ll actually learn, and what to watch out for along the way.
Most importantly, every project is built around free or low-cost tools. Because the goal is learning, not spending.
Why I’m Building These Too
Here’s the part I find even exciting. I haven’t built all of these yet. The Hit List drops on March 3rd, and I’ll be working through every single project publicly — right here on augustwheel.com.
That’s intentional. I got the idea from travel bloggers who share places they plan to visit before they’ve been there. The list is the intention. The blog posts, the notes, the “here’s what actually went wrong” moments — that’s the trip report. And I think building alongside each other is more interesting than me pretending I figured it all out before you downloaded it.
So if you build something before I do, I genuinely want to see it. If you hit a wall, share it. If you find a better way, even better.
Who This Is For

If you’ve been curious about AI but don’t have a technical background, this is for you. If you’ve tried tutorials and felt like they moved too fast or assumed too much, this is for you. If you work in an NGO, run a small business, or just want to understand what all the fuss is about by actually doing something — this is for you.
You don’t need to know how to code. You don’t need an expensive setup. You just need a bit of time and a willingness to build something that might not work perfectly the first time.
